One of the most beautiful hut approaches I have ever done! It has everything, from forest paths and meadow hikes to rope-secured sections in high alpine and exposed terrain. From the free car park at the Haus der Berge, take path four along an easy forest path above the tree line. From here it gets a little steeper and rockier. We now cross the glacial landscape of the Ortler. Through moraines, gravel slopes and easy boulder terrain, directly below the north face of the Ortler, we climb further up to the Tabaretterhütte at 2500 meters. After a short break with a view of the Weißkugel and the impressive Ortler north face, we continue climbing. The path now runs at a height along the slope until it rises again at the Bärenkopfscharte. Now the question arises: helmet yes or no? I say yes! So I unpack my helmet here and carry on walking. Since I have the Sirocco 2 from Petzl, the weight shouldn't be a problem anyway. You know my motto: fast and light! I always put on a helmet in gullies like this. But... personal responsibility and common sense! From the foot of the ridge, the path now climbs steadily in serpentines until it comes out of the ridge. Afterwards, wire ropes and wooden stakes secure the path every now and then. Very well constructed and very walkable. Respect to the entertainment association in Sulden! The path now continues just below the rock ridge. After passing a wooden bridge and many sections secured with ropes, the terrain becomes flatter again and the last climb approaches. The path now leads easily up to the Payerhütte. The view can only be described in three letters: WOW! From here you start the ascent to the Ortler at around 4 a.m.! What an atmosphere up there. After a short break, I jog down. I regain my concentration in the gap and go to the Tabaretterhütte and then have something tasty to eat. Then it's easy down into the valley. What a day! ———————————————————— Please find out about the tour yourself and take care of yourselves! Thanks for watching and have fun in the mountains. ????
