It was built as a starting point for tours in the Zaytal and lies high above the end of the Sulden valley. Tourism is much more prevalent here than in the rest of the Vinschgau, which is certainly due to the cable cars in Sulden. Personally, I don't mind that I'm not alone. And when I do, I simply leave the well-trodden paths and jog along a deserted path with a wonderful view... Like in this video. The Eselsteig is an alpine path with a few steep sections and even a wooden bridge that makes a particularly exposed passage easier. I really liked this one and the rest of the hike was also a lot of fun. From Sulden we follow the path along the stream, which is almost impossible to miss. After we pass a wooden bridge, we reach the meadow landscape and climb up wide paths until the terrain becomes flatter. Now the path from the two lifts also leads up. After we have overcome a final conical steep step, we reach the tranquil mountain hut. After a short break, we descend a little again until we reach the small wooden bridge where the Eselsteig begins. We then follow this until it crosses wide forest paths. From there we then climb the rest of the way to the small Kälberalpe. From here you can optionally descend the forest path, which is still long, or you can start the descent via the well-maintained forest path, which is a little longer. ———————————————————————— Thanks for watching and see you next time!
