He is a firefighter, athlete, influencer and quadriplegic. For the opening of the 2024 Paralympic Games, "Libération" collected the testimony of Romain Guérineau, aka @rorolecostaud. In a rehabilitation center, Roro the strong man watches the performances of the Paralympic athletes in London in 2012 on television. He is also disabled, a skiing accident left him quadriplegic. "These Games made me dream, it made me want to do high-level sport." Athletics, bodybuilding, handbike... the firefighter, now in a wheelchair, practices almost every day. "It's a need for me," he says, to the point that he even considered participating in the 2024 Paris Paralympic Games.
