Program page: https://impa.br/ensino/programas-de-f... The High School Math Teacher Improvement Program - PAPMEM consists of free training for mathematics teachers from all over Brazil. It has been held since 1990, covering topics related to high school. The program is held for one week full time, from 9 am to 5 pm, independently in the months of January and July, during the school recess. Each of the program's modules is held simultaneously at IMPA and at partner institutions throughout the country. We currently have around 70 centers and 3,000 participating teachers. At IMPA, we have 150 students per module. Lectures are given in the morning and broadcast live via the Internet from IMPA to participating institutions in other states, using the infrastructure of the National Education and Research Network (RNP). In the afternoon, guided studies are conducted and supervised by professors from each center. This program resulted in a series of books specifically designed for high school teachers, published in the Mathematics Teacher Collection of the Brazilian Mathematical Society (SBM). In another phase, which had the support of the CAPES-FAPERJ program, the books entitled A Matemática do Ensino Médio – vol. 1, vol. 2 and vol. 3 were produced.
