Don't forget to deduct the surface of any windows and doors. The paint can always indicates how many square meters you can paint with it. Tip! Buy a little more, so you won't be faced with any surprises. You can always return items that have not yet been opened to the store. 01:15 - Step 2: Covering and masking First make sure that you cover your floor well, for example with a plaster run. Then use masking tape to cover the skirting boards and side walls. Tape it tightly along the edges so that everything looks neat later. Tip! If you have a rough ceiling that the tape does not stick to properly, use a putty knife instead of tape. 01:58 - Step 3: Remove dust and grease from the wall Remove dust and any cobwebs. Then pour a little wall cleaner into a bucket of warm water and carefully clean the wall and remove grease with a sponge. Do you still see holes or cracks in your wall? Repair them with filler so that you can work on an even wall later. 02:38 - Step 4: Priming Priming is not necessary for every wall. Is there already a layer of paint on your wall? Then you can skip this step. Primer is necessary for an untreated wall because otherwise the wall will absorb the paint like a sponge, which means you will use an unnecessary amount of paint. Apply the primer in the same way as the wall paint, see the next step. Tip! Not sure whether priming is necessary? Splash a few drops of water on the wall. Stir the paint. Then pour it into the paint tray. First apply the wall paint to the edges, and then go over it horizontally with a small roller. Paint the large surface with the large roller. Always work from top to bottom and in long strokes in one direction. Finally, remove the tape. Do this while the paint is still wet, to prevent damage. Tip!
