In the year that marks the 75th anniversary of the tragic death of the composer from Burgos Antonio José Martínez Palacios (1902-1936), the Burgos Symphony Orchestra under the direction of Javier Castro, in the XII Estío Musical Burgalés pays tribute to his music. The Castilian Symphony was composed in 1923 based on the Castilian Sonata, written for piano two years earlier. It is a work dedicated by the composer to his parents, a description of the Castilian landscape and the spirit of its people is made, using an impressionist musical language.
