※ This video is part of <Extreme Job - Heuksando Redfish Catching> broadcast on April 3-4, 2013. Heuksando, the largest redfish fishing ground in South Korea! Located 92.7km from Mokpo Port, Heuksando currently has 7 boats maintaining the redfish fishing tradition. The waters near Heuksando are deep, over 80m deep, and have a lot of mud, making it the optimal habitat and spawning ground for redfish. In addition, Heuksando fishermen do not use bait to keep the redfish fresh, and they only catch the redfish with hooks, using a method called the hook-and-line method. Although the catch had decreased significantly at one point, the catch has recently increased due to the crackdown on illegal Chinese fishing boats, and fishing is booming. The work of pulling up a longline with 400 sharp hooks per turn can lead to a major accident if they let their guard down even a little, so the crew must be on their toes every time they fish. The Yeongjinho crew finally begins fishing on the sea where danger can strike at any time, braving the rough waves! The Yeongjinho is the only Korean crew among the remaining redfish fishing boats in Heuksando. The five crew members, from a 30-year veteran captain to a 4-month rookie, prepare for fishing with the same mindset every time. After loading the fishing gear with thousands of sharp needles and ice to keep the redfish caught in the sea fresh, they are finally ready to set sail. The Yeongjinho finally sets sail with the dream of a full catch, and after a 5-hour run, the Yeongjinho begins its first fishing trip! First, they cast the net for the next fishing trip and begin hauling in the location where the fishing gear was lowered during the previous fishing trip. The crew members gradually become exhausted from the relentless march, and even a sudden situation occurs where the fishing net breaks! To make matters worse, the sea, which had been unusual before departure, eventually begins to get rough. Will the Yeongjinho be able to finish the fishing trip safely? The crew of Yeongjinho struggles with drowsiness that comes with fishing that continues late into the night. However, the longline they are pulling up with difficulty only catches trash instead of skates, and the crew becomes even more exhausted. Even the face of the 30-year veteran captain is not smiling. To make matters worse, an unexpected accident occurs... After a 2-hour nap, the fishing begins again. Finally, huge skates begin to come up...
