This week's #OpiniãoNaCultura, hosted by Rita Lisauskas, takes advantage of two important global events - COP29 and the G20 - to talk about the urgency of environmental issues for the planet. The idea is to try to show that, while leaders and representatives of organizations from various countries will be at the COP discussing issues related to climate change, energy transition and environmental preservation, at the G20, the richest countries, and consequently, those that pollute the most, will be meeting in Rio de Janeiro. What concrete action is being taken? Are the goals that each of these powers has to meet coming to fruition? To talk about the subject, we will talk to Annelise Vendramini, professor and researcher at the Center for Sustainability Studies at FGV and Mario Mantovani, environmentalist and Institutional Director of the National Association of Municipalities and the Environment - ANAMMA. We also spoke remotely with Toya Manchineri, an indigenous leader and general coordinator of Coiab, who spoke about the launch of the G9 of the Amazon, an unprecedented alliance made by indigenous organizations from nine Amazonian countries, whose objective is to strengthen the fight for the protection of the largest tropical forest in the world.
