Singer, tap dancer, bandleader, but also actor Ondřej Havelka dedicated his musical life to swing in particular. At the end of the 1970s, he joined the Original Prague Syncopation Orchestra, which was founded by Pavel Klikar and focused on the music of the 1920s and 1930s. In the mid-1990s, Havelka founded his own big band, named Ondřej Havelka And His Melody Makers, which focuses on the music of the 1930s and 1940s. And exactly what is the fundamental difference, Ondřej Havelka revealed, among other things, in the next edition of On Air . What attracts him to pre-war aesthetics and almost a century old music? Why didn't he become a rock guitarist in the end, how did he dream about it in his youth and who were his role models? And how are archaic instruments such as mellophone or sousaphone found today?
