Happy new year derince! In this video, Eren explains why the secant, cosecant and cotangent functions are actually useless. Enjoy the movie. Those of you who watched the video where we explained the relationship of the New Year's theorem with the equation pi = 1 - 1/3 + 1/5 - 1/7 + 1/9 - ... in the METU Mathematics building one midnight, know that. During the proof of the theorem, there was a section where I got angry when my friend Serhat from Bilkent used the expression sec(x) instead of 1/cos(x) and explained why I hated the secant function for a while, but we had reserved that part to share as a separate video.
