After escaping from the rain to Hol and having slept peacefully, we visited the stave church there and then continued through the Hallingskarvet National Park to Stegastein. This structure, which protrudes 30 metres over the mountainside and is 650 metres above the fjord, offers an unparalleled panoramic view. We decided against the Lærdal tunnel and, despite the rather cloudy weather, drove from Stegastein over the Aurlandsfjellet. How beautiful it must be here in sunny weather... From Lærdal we drove along the Sognefjord up to Sognefjellet. And there it finally happened. The clouds gradually parted and the blue sky and the rays of sunshine appeared. This moment was unforgettable... ???? The Sognetfjellet and the scenic route that runs along it is the highest mountain pass in Northern Europe. It continues uphill to the highest point at 1434 m above sea level. The descent through a beautiful mountain landscape ends directly in Lom and the stave church there. After the tour, during which we were once again unable to look inside, we continued through the Breheimen National Park. As the weather towards Geiranger was still relatively bad that evening, we decided to spend the night at Breiddalsvatnet. What a place to sleep and the weather the following day was perfect for Dalsnibba. So we went up to the viewpoint at 1500 m above sea level...
