O.V. Volokitina is a master of landscape, still life, portrait, and interior painting. Her works are easily recognizable: they are gracefully executed, impeccable in drawing, and amaze with their surprisingly soft and at the same time deep colors. In the early stages of her creative work, the artist preferred oil and tempera painting, but since the late 90s she has been working mainly in the technique of classical multi-layered watercolor. Turning to watercolor allowed O. Volokitina to fully reveal her creative individuality. Her landscapes, still lifes, portraits are filled with air and light, and are memorable for the originality of their color scheme. The artist's color palette is inexhaustible: from a variety of finely nuanced shades, sometimes almost transparent, to a deep, saturated pure color or a bright, ringing, form-forming color spot. It is the color in combination with the special rhythm of the compositional solution that immediately sets the mood for emotional perception. Each of Olga Volokitina's works has a unique poetics.
