The Nuremberg trials held by the Allies for Hitler's state officials were the worst play known in modern history after justice in them turned into a campaign of revenge against Germany and what the German army did in Europe in World War II. The Allies held the Nuremberg Court after World War II for senior German political, military and economic officials on charges of opposing peace, conspiracy to ignite a hostile war and crimes against humanity. Among these officials were Hermann Goering, Marshal of the Third Reich, Rudolf Hess, Deputy Fuhrer, and engineer Albert Speer, Hitler's favorite engineer and Minister of Public Works in the last years of the war. Heinrich Himmler escaped trial after he was the first to negotiate with the Allies to surrender himself, but he decided to end his life himself. Martin Bormann and a number of senior officials who fled or were killed during the last battle of Berlin also escaped, but those who remained of Hitler's men were tried and a large number of them were convicted by four judges from the United States, Britain, France and the Soviet Union. The Allies chose the city of Nuremberg because it was the center of the National Socialist German Workers' Party movement, and it is the city that Hosted giant marches in which the party declared its existence, the loyalty of its members, and honored its martyrs. They wanted to link the name to achieving justice for Hitler's men, but the truth is that the trial was the opposite of justice, which did not include all parties to the war and did not hold accountable all the crimes committed in it.
