NORWAY LOFOTEN ISLANDS Documentary 37 minutes text, photography, editing, directed by Davide Mocci. In northern Europe, beyond the Arctic Circle, we encounter a series of islands arranged in an arc for almost two hundred kilometers, they are the fascinating and beautiful Lofoten Islands. The documentary maker Davide Mocci will lead you to discover the natural landscapes of the archipelago, from the small and wild island of Værøy and the production of stockfish to the suggestive Moskenesoy with the small villages nestled in the mountain, almost suspended between the sky and the sea, considered the most picturesque corners of all Norway. The excellent photography of the documentary will make you appreciate the natural landscapes of the island of Flakstadoy, the island of artists and beaches that seem to belong more to the tropical world than to the Nordic one, here in addition to the sharp mountains rising between two seas, the small lakes that alternate with tiny fjords, we will meet the artist Tor Vegard who forges iron inspired by nature and Asvar Tangrand, one of the most famous and original glass artists in all of Lapland, the creator of the Lofoten rune, the symbol of this land. The journey continues north through valleys, fjords and some lagoon environments, to the island of Vestvagoy, the largest of the Lofoten, where we will learn about the life of the Viking people. The documentary culminates with the island of Austvagoy, the northernmost of this unique archipelago and while we observe the large fjord where the Lofoten and Vesteralen meet we will learn about the complex mechanisms of bird flight.
