November 11th is a very special night for the four of them, lots of people are out and about and many of them are heavily intoxicated. Offenses, crimes and misdemeanors are piling up. The two patrol teams race from one operation to the next in their police cars with blue lights flashing. Sarah Schräder and Jonas Horder find themselves in the middle of an argument between a group of young people and an older man. The fact that the latter of all people is resisting and verbally abusive almost throws even the otherwise calm duo off balance - and puts the man in police custody. Both teams are called to a break-in - a rather unusual operation on carnival. At the crime scene, the situation puzzles them. It is not a burglary, but an intoxicated young man who fell through a glass roof. Experience nighttime police operations up close The "Night Patrol" deliberately tells the story of everyday police life from the perspective of those who experience it. This makes the series and its protagonists approachable and authentic. The camera is always there from very close distance during police operations. In the third season, officers from the first two seasons can be seen again, but there are also some new faces. Still on duty, known from the first two seasons, is Chief Inspector Michael Kirch (55), who is now looking after security in Mainz Neustadt together with his colleague Paul Wiens (35). Melina Reisel (28) is still investigating in the Criminal Investigation Department, but now as deputy shift leader and together with newcomer Kevin Gugenheimer (26). In this season, 26-year-old Lena Bottlender will be accompanied at night by Chief Inspector Gerwin Schwiersch (42). New to the Mainz 1 police station are Sarah Schräder (28) and Jonas Horder (25). There is also a new patrol team at the Neustadtwache: Sebastian Obermeier (30) and Dominik Muders (29) as part of the protective police.
