He obtained his habilitation in 2006, writing a dissertation entitled "Animals in the Neolith. Social Zooarchaeology of Prehistoric Agricultural Communities.” At Adam Mickiewicz University, he is a professor at the Faculty of Archaeology. Professor Marciniak was also a Fulbright Scholar at the University of California - Santa Cruz. He is directing excavations at the Neolithic site in Çatalhöyük. The UAM educational project for specialists in archaeology and natural heritage led by Prof. Marciniak received the main prize awarded by the Directorate-General for Education, Youth, Sport and Culture of the European Commission. https://archeo.amu.edu.pl/Studenci/in...
