#Mesopotamia #ArtHistory #AncientHistory #AncientArt Do you know the iconography of the hero Gilgamesh? And the laws of the Code of Hammurabi? Why are the reliefs of Assyrian art so cruel? Was the Akkadian Empire the first empire in history? Who invented cuneiform writing? What are the stages of Mesopotamian art? Hello everyone! Today I bring you a summary video of the Art of Mesopotamia, a review of the entire history of Mesopotamia, so that you understand what kind of art these first civilizations in history created and what are the most interesting works of art that have come down to us. When we talk about the Art of Mesopotamia, we refer to the artistic production of the peoples and cultures that lived around the Euphrates and Tigris rivers between the end of the 4th millennium BC and the 6th century BC. C., that is, the territories that we currently know as Iraq, Iran, Syria, Turkey, etc. whose history is reflected in the Old Testament and surely you are familiar with terms such as the Tower of Babel, the universal flood, etc. We are going to talk about cities such as Nineveh, within present-day Mosul, Ur, Uruk, Nimrud, Lagash, Nippur, Babylon, etc. Surely you have asked yourself more than once... How did the first civilization in History arise in Mesopotamia? In this video we will begin by talking about the Sumerian civilization, the first known in History and the inventors of cuneiform writing. This first civilization arises because they have sufficient advances to create and put into practice advanced agricultural techniques such as irrigation that allows them to obtain surpluses and thus be able to create an entire administrative and political system typical of a complex society. In addition, these surpluses were also the origin of trade and crafts. In other words, I have plenty of food and that allows me to dedicate myself to other things or even trade with it. If you want to learn about the general history of Mesopotamian art, stay to learn about the Sumerians, the Akkadians, the art of the Assyrians and the Babylonian Empire. If you want me to make another video about the art of the Persian Empire, GIVE IT A LIKE and leave it in the comments ????
