In 2014, the comprehensive renovation of the bells of Lüneburg's St. John's Church was completed. The last stage was the purchase of a large bell, which will relieve the strain on the historic bell [2] - which already had a crack that had to be welded - in the future. The full bell now rings in the new disposition A°-H°-cis'-d'-e'-fis'-d``-e``. Many famous bell founders of the Middle Ages and the Baroque period left their bells in the mighty brick tower of Lüneburg's St. John's Church, including Hinrik van Kampen[8, 1519], Gert Klinge [7+2, 1436], Paul Voß [5, 1607] and the Lüneburg bell founder Johann C. Ziegener [3, 1718]. For this impressive ensemble, the Karlsruhe bell foundry Bachert cast the bells [4+6] in 2013 and this year the large bell [1], which weighs an impressive 7 tons. In addition to the installation of new bells, the historic bells were extensively renovated. Cracks and striking rings on some bells had to be repaired. The new full peal is a powerful singing of all the bells, which particularly benefits from the two particularly powerful large bells.
