Shortly before Christmas, Jule Meggers and her parents Marion and Jens-Uwe are under double stress in the family bakery: In addition to the normal range of bread and baked goods, they also have to produce and sell Christmas biscuits. The problem: they already have too few staff. The idea: to train an apprentice from China. But how does communication work? And how does a Chinese woman feel in Schleswig-Holstein? You can also find this and other documentaries in the ARD Mediathek: https://www.ardmediathek.de/dokus The traditional Meggers bakery has been around since 1883, Jule is a fifth-generation baker. The 28-year-old runs the branch in Flensburg and now wants to join the management team. To do this, the family has to decide on the new direction: Jule would like to adapt the range, create new products, and sort out others. Her parents are (still) sticking to the old range. Jule also wants to try out new biscuits for Christmas, which she also wants to sell at weekly markets. How does this go down with customers? And will they manage as a family to get everything ready in time for Christmas? Or will they have to make cuts to their offerings for the first time this year? And will family peace be able to withstand the stress so close to Christmas? More on this: https://www.ndr.de/fernsehen/sendunge... First broadcast: December 23, 2024 #ndr #doku #weihnachtsbäckerei
