Lucha Reyes. Although as a child she showed her fondness for singing, the strumming of her voice and the characteristic falsetto that she managed to impose in her songs in her best moments, she had her peak in the 1930s, when she specialized in Mexican folklore songs. She was still very young when her father was orphaned. She took the surname Reyes from her mother's second husband, who took care of her until she reached adolescence. During her early years as a singer, and in her home state, she obtained the title of Mariachi Queen, and shortly after, she and her family moved to Mexico City, where they lived in a modest home in the Morelos neighborhood, but the poor economic situation her parents were going through at the time prevented her from finishing her primary education; she then joined the choir of the Iglesia del Carmen. 1.
