In today's episode of "Lower Silesian Mysteries", together with Joanna Lamparska, we will take you to the Czech town of Broumov, located right next to the border, where in 1999, during the renovation, the Benedictines found a mysterious cloth... On the cloth, they saw the reflection of a male body and there was also an inscription "Extractum ab originali", which means a faithful copy of the original. A letter was also attached to the cloth. If you want to find out what was written in the letter and what the mysterious Shroud of Broumov is, watch the next episode of "Lower Silesian Mysteries". Premiere, today at 10:00, as usual on www.radiowrocław.pl and on our YouTube channel. SHROUD OF BROUMOV Good Friday, or the Day of the Lord's Passion, is one of the most important days in the liturgical year for Christians. A day of concentration, seriousness and reflection on the Passion of Christ. It is also a starting point for reflections on the Mysteries of Resurrection and Salvation, which are the content of the approaching Easter. Remaining on the subject of the Good Friday mystery, we meet Joanna Lamparska to announce our next superproduction. This time, our film crew went to Broumov, Czech Republic, located right on the border, to tell you the story of an extraordinary discovery – a copy of the Shroud of Turin. This discovery was the work of absolute chance. The brothers were supposed to be restoring this church and they got right under its vault, that is, a good few meters. Then, next to the reliquary, they saw the inscription “Sancta sindom”, or holy cloth (sic!). They were convinced that perhaps in the past centuries someone had hidden a small fragment there, a cut-off fragment of the Shroud of Turin. Exactly, the brothers pulled out the mysterious bundle, went downstairs, unrolled the cloth and were speechless.... They saw the reflection of a male body on the cloth and there was also an inscription "Extractum ab originali", which means a faithful copy of the original. A letter was also attached to the cloth. "I, Julius Caesar Bergiria, by the grace of God and the Apostolic Archbishop of Turin, confirm the authenticity of the copy of the Shroud of Turin, which was made on April 4, 1651. The copy was indeed made with great precision. Its dimensions are 4 meters 36 centimeters long and 1 meter 10 centimeters wide - exactly the same as the original Shroud of Turin. However, this is not the only treasure that the monks deposited in the Broumov monastery. The Benedictines also had a fantastic library. The first recorded copies of the writings found here date back to 1332, and since then the brothers have managed to collect 67,000 volumes. If you are curious about what the Shroud of Boroumov looks like and what treasures are in the monastery there - be sure to watch the next episode of "Lower Silesian Mysteries". Premiere on Easter morning as usual at 10:00, of course on: www.radiowrocław.pl and on our YouTube channel. We invite you.
