Palanga (lit. Palangà) is a city and resort in Klaipėda County in western Lithuania. It is located on the coast of the Baltic Sea. Administratively, it has the status of a self-governing entity, and ethnographically, it belongs to Samogitia. Palanga is a city in western Lithuania, located along the coast of the Baltic Sea and occupies 25 km of the coast (including the village of Šventoji, which was annexed to Palanga in 1973). It is located 27 km north of Klaipėda and 331 km northwest of Vilnius, 19 km south of the border with Latvia.
