Conmebol will hold the draw for the Copa Sudamericana and Copa Libertadores groups for the 2021 season this Wednesday (December 25). Unlike previous editions, representatives of the clubs that will compete in the tournaments will be watching the event, held in Luque, Paraguay, remotely. The measure complies with the recommendations of health authorities in combating the new coronavirus pandemic. In the Copa Sudamericana, six Brazilian teams have qualified for the group stage. In addition to Corinthians and Athletico-PR, who are seeded, there are Bahia, Atlético-GO, Ceará and Red Bull Bragantino. In the Libertadores, the national teams that have qualified are: Palmeiras, Flamengo, São Paulo, Atlético-MG, Internacional and Fluminense. Grêmio and Santos are still trying to get a spot in the Pre-Libertadores. Traditional South American rivals, such as River Plate (ARG), Boca Juniors (ARG) and Nacional (URU), are also in the running.
