The launch event, held on December 11, 2024, featured an opening panel with the participation of Minister Paula Barboza, General Coordinator of BRICS at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MRE), Walter Desiderá, Coordinator of Studies in External Economic Relations at IPEA, and Graciela Rodriguez, representative of REBRIP. The panel, moderated by the director of IRI/PUC-Rio, Isabel Rocha de Siqueira, discussed, from different perspectives, the expectations and challenges of the Brazilian presidency of BRICS next year. The second panel of the event was attended by the authors of the Notebook: the director of the BRICS Policy Center, Marta Fernández, the deputy director, Maria Elena Rodriguez, and the research assistant, Renan Canellas. They presented the Notebook to the public and discussed the context and objectives of the publication, which aims to be an engagement tool for researchers, journalists, social organizations and all those interested in understanding the functioning and strategic role of BRICS, especially with regard to the participation of these actors in next year's Summit, which will be held in Brazil.
