The panoramic road winds its way up the Kitzbüheler Horn over 16 bends. Once at the top, the hard-working cyclist or leisurely driver can look forward to a view of the Grossglockner and the Streif. And traditional cuisine that makes you happy. While Mesi Tötschinger and Harald Nachförg play mountain panorama guessing on the spacious terrace of the Alpenhaus (https://www.alpenhaus.at/), Franz Reisch was already busy in the kitchen and had prepared everything he needed for his two favorite dishes. But before the time comes and we cook Kaiserschmarrn and pressed dumplings with him, the three of them sit down in the sun, just like the whole kitchen and service team does every day before starting work up there. And Franz chats about the laborious construction of a panoramic road, daring pioneer descents, his love of the mountains and how to get your children to enjoy carrying their "rucksack". To the article: https://www.servus.com/a/pc/podcast-f... You are listening to: Servus columnist Harald Nachförg, who in his monthly column in Servus in Stadt & Land talks about the not so small and not so big things of everyday life in the 1960s and 1970s. But we don't just appreciate the Viennese man's noble pen. We also love listening to his noble voice. He doesn't know much about cooking, but he loves eating all the more and sometimes asks strange questions. Tip: Here are his humorous books (https://www.servusmarktplatz.com/such...). Mesi Tötschinger is a bon vivant and passionate cook. But the Tyrolean native also appreciates a good inn, of which there are fortunately plenty in her adopted hometown of Vienna. When it comes to preparing her favorite dishes, she has a trick or two up her sleeve. However, Mesi still likes to learn something from our podcast guests. The Alpenhaus in Kitzbühel has been owned by the Reisch family since 1893. Franz Reisch's great-grandfather and namesake was the first to dare a high-alpine ski descent from the Kitzbüheler Horn into the valley. He acquired the Alpenhaus and the Kagringalpe that year. His son Walter continued the business as a hotel, built the Alter Hornweg and supported the construction of the Hornkapelle with land and financial resources. In the third generation, Ernst Reisch converted the Alpenhaus from a hotel to a day-to-day business. One of his significant achievements was the construction of the Panoramastraße in 1965. Today, Franz Reisch (pictured) and his wife Ursula are the fourth generation to run the Alpenhaus, supported by their children Franziska and Hans-Peter. In addition, Ursula and Franz Reisch run the Landhotel Jodlbühel in Jochberg as a family business. Did you like the episode?
