Hello friends! In this video, I want to tell you 10 secrets of industrial and commercial photography that I learned in a recent project for a home appliance factory in Tehran. 1. Use an assistant. Having an assistant is very important in industrial photography. This way, you can set up the lighting and equipment for each photo much faster. 2. Use a tethering connection. Connecting the camera to a laptop allows you to view the photos on a larger laptop screen instead of the small camera screen, and check the focus and other details more easily. 3. Pay attention to the light. Light makes up 90% of photography. So it is very important to spend a lot of time adjusting the lighting for your photos. 4. Work with professionals. When choosing clients and collaborators, it is very important to pay attention to their professionalism. Having a good working relationship with everyone involved in the project prevents delays and disappointment. 5. Pay attention to the financial aspect. There is a standard procedure for paying photographers in commercial photography. Usually, one-third to one-half of the fee is paid before the project begins, and the rest after the client approves the final edited photos. 6. Respect copyright. The photographer owns the copyright to the raw and edited photos (PSD files). The client cannot claim ownership of these files. These files are considered the photographer’s work. 7. Be prepared for physical hardship. Industrial photography often requires the photographer to be in different physical positions in order to take the best photos. 8. Learn photo editing. Most of the time, the beautiful effects we see in advertising photos are not achievable without editing in Photoshop. I recommend that aspiring industrial photographers learn some basic to intermediate photo editing skills using Photoshop. This will greatly improve the quality of their work.
