We have finally found a SATE that we think is technically very good, easy to explain and accessible. We think it is important that the professionals who follow us know the products that make up the system; that the most advanced DIYers consider applying it yourselves and that those of you who are going to order it from a professional understand what you are hiring. As with other Beissier products, we have made this video with the support of its Technical Department and they have allowed one of their application and training specialists, Sebas Martínez Roberts, to show us how this SATE is installed on a façade. But, if you are a professional and want to learn more about SATE by participating in a Beissier training course, contact them here: https://www.beissier.es/es/contacto/c... Before starting, remember that Beissier Therm SATE has the ETE (European Technical Assessment) certification as long as you use all the products included in the system, you cannot do without any product in its application or replace them with products from other brands. Let's go step by step! ONE. We place the EPS or Neopor boards of the thickness recommended by the climate zone where the house is located. To place them, we put a starting profile. Previously we would have prepared a baseboard of about 30-50 cm with a two-component mortar, which is waterproof and elastic, and high-density EPS boards that better resist impacts. This way we can guarantee that the area next to the floor is waterproofed and very resistant. We place the boards so that the joints are always offset. We glue them to the wall with BME 12003 mortar and a 10 mm notched trowel. It is very important to ensure that the levelling is correct and that there are no gaps in the joints that could become thermal bridges. Note how the panels are placed around the windows. TWO. Once the mortar used to glue the panels has dried, we fix them with dowels. It is important to respect the guidelines for the distribution of the dowels. We place the mesh on the starting profile and apply mortar to the heads of the dowels, the mesh of the starting profile and other singular points such as the corners or the window openings. THREE. Once the dowel and mesh mortar has dried, we apply a layer of mortar to the entire surface in vertical grooves with an 8 mm notched trowel. We will soak the mesh in this mortar, pushing it with the trowel but making sure it does not come into contact with the panels. We overlap the mesh strips by 10 cm. We let it dry. Look at how Sebas works with the mortar and the mesh on the windows. FOUR. The first layer of mortar dries, we scrape off any burrs with the spatula and apply a second layer with a smooth trowel, a smoothing layer. Depending on the finishing requirements, a third layer of mortar could be applied, a finishing layer. FIVE. Once all the layers have dried, we apply the final coating. We have chosen Granocryl from Beissier, which is made up of a primer, Fondo Pétreo, and a finish, BRS SL 15 LOTO. There are other possibilities within the system. Once the primer has dried, we apply the finish, equalising the load as much as possible and trowelling it with a plastic trowel. If you work in strips and use masking tape, you can stop the work and achieve a spectacular result.
