The second factor is humidity. There are cabinets specifically designed to store equipment, which control humidity. The fungus proliferates at a humidity of 70%. Another factor is darkness, or rather, the absence of light. I say absence of light because fungi do not like light (UV). Now it is easy to understand why it is wrong to store photographic equipment in a bag. No light passes through! An easy and cheap way to store our photographic equipment and protect the lenses from fungus is to put it in a transparent box, with silica gel or even dehumidifiers found in any supermarket.
