It happens to everyone to have bad days or periods, in which you can't find new subjects, new places to photograph and new inspiration. What to do? In landscape and nature photography, perhaps because of the excessive offer of places and subjects to photograph, often also because of the inevitable comparison that is made with the extraordinary photos of professionals, many end up thinking they are not up to it, that they don't have the skills. I think this moment of frustration has happened to everyone, at least once in their life, to beginners, amateur photographers, professionals, and it is truly mortifying. And yet we have a good camera, high-performance lenses, but so what? So you must not give space to these moments of negativity, you must not leave the camera in the drawer, on the contrary, go out, do not go looking for extraordinary places, spectacular light situations but concentrate on the little things, on those subjects that you have always ignored or discarded because they are insignificant. The ideal would be to go into the green, in the countryside, but the public park near your house is fine too. It is possible to find interesting subjects even around the corner, among parked cars, along the sidewalk, among people. There are subjects everywhere and we must focus on this discovery and we must discover ourselves as sensitive and attentive observers. Leave aside the competition with social photos that publish spectacular photos every day, go and understand where they come from, how they were made, with how many hours of post-production. If, as I say in the video, you want to photograph the Tre Cime di Lavaredo, but you live in Brianza, or in central Rome, the comparison will be merciless, with all due respect to Rome and Brianza, because in these areas you will never find the Dolomite landscape. Start with the small things, look for all those subjects that nature hides, let's go and discover colors, shadows, contrasts. Start from here, but above all go out and photograph because you will surely be able to find some interesting subjects and if you were not to find interesting subjects, you will surely find the essence of all this... you will meet yourself. ADVICE In the woods you have to be careful because you could lose your bearings. Keep an eye on the reference points, a compass, a charged phone and a flashlight.
