My guest today is Hape Kerkeling. Hape is undoubtedly one of the greatest German entertainers and first appeared in front of the camera 40 years ago. He is also an actor, singer, voice actor, director and author. His cult characters Horst Schlämmer, Uschi Blum and Evje van Dampen or his double of the Dutch Queen Beatrix are unforgettable for many people. And in addition to his multifaceted show persona, Hape also wrote the most successful non-fiction book of post-war history in 2006 with his book “Ich bin dann mal weg”. He shared his moving autobiography with the public exactly 10 years ago in “Der Junge muss an die frische Luft” and spoke very openly for the first time about his mother's suicide when he was eight years old.
