Haeinsa Temple, the temple of the Dharma Treasure Order, is considered one of the Three Jewels of Korea, along with Tongdosa Temple, the temple of the Buddha Treasure Order, and Songgwangsa Temple, the temple of the Monk Treasure Order. Haeinsa Temple is the fundamental temple of the Korean Hwaeomjong Order and the temple that houses the Tripitaka Koreana, the sum of our people’s beliefs. It has been a spiritual refuge for Koreans and a light of wisdom illuminating this land. The Avatamsaka Sutra, the fundamental scripture of the Hwaeomjong Order, is the pinnacle of Mahayana scriptures that were established in Central Asia around the 4th century. Its original name is Daebanggwangbulhwaeomgyeong, and it is said to be the essence of Eastern culture. There is a phrase called Haein Sammae (海印三昧) in this scripture, and the name Haeinsa Temple is derived from this ‘Haein Sammae.’ As the largest temple in Korea, it is located at the foot of the famous mountain Gayasan, with Gayasan behind it and Maehwasan in front, so the majestic appearance and the surrounding scenery are not only awe-inspiring, but the snowy scenery created by the pine forest and mountain temple also makes the viewer immerse in a mystical realm. ● Subscribe to 'BTN Archive' YouTube (Click the link and subscribe button!) / @btn8122 ● Subscribe to 'BTN Buddhist TV' YouTube https://bit.ly/3k5nt10 ● BTN Buddha Association membership 1855-0108 (regular sponsorship) Regular sponsorship from Buddhists is a great help in spreading the Buddha's teachings.
