Martin Vymětal is a Czech marketing guru. He co-founded the content and marketing agency Boomerang, which has produced the most famous Czech advertising campaigns. The older generation will certainly remember the phenomenal magazine for Vodafone clients Čilichili, the younger generation, for example, "Život je bořký. Bohudík." In addition to claiming to be a Prague bourgeois, Martin is an avid walker, hiker, who has completed the Pacific Crest Trail, a trek of over 4200 km from the Mexican border to Canada, and together with two friends he makes the podcast Middle Ages about the (non)crisis of midlife. He says of himself that he is cheeky and likes to provoke, but at the same time he is not afraid to talk about his fear or sadness and feelings in general. His enormous openness can be an inspiration for many men, boys and guys. Martin and I talked a lot about men in the modern world, about what manhood means, why "real men" drink beer and not Latte and whether it's really that serious. We discussed whether there is a difference between a guy from Prague and a guy from Broumov and whether there is a crisis of masculinity in our society. But we also talked about his work, about social networks, because of which we direct ourselves, about whether marketing is a lie and why you will never get a hamburger like the one in the photo at McDonald's.
