Musharrafuddin Mosleh bin Abdullah Shirazi is a great poet and writer of the 7th century AH. His last name is "Saadi", which is derived from the name of Atabak Muzaffaruddin Saad, son of Abu Bakr, son of Saad, son of Zangi. He was probably born between 600 and 615 AH. In his youth, he went to the military school in Baghdad and studied literature, interpretation, jurisprudence, theology and wisdom. Then he traveled to Syria, Morocco, Abyssinia and Hijaz and after returning to Shiraz, he started composing his masterpieces. In 655 AH, he edited Saadinameh or Bustan, and in the following year (656 AH) he composed Golestan. In addition to these, he has odes, ghazals, pieces, stanzas, quatrains, articles, and Arabic poems, all of which are collected in his collections. He died in Shiraz between 690 and 694 AH and was buried there. Saadi has made an undeniable impact on the Persian language. So that there is a significant similarity between modern Persian and the Saadi language. His works have long been taught in schools and schools as a source of teaching Persian language and literature, and many common proverbs in the Persian language have been adapted from his works. Unlike many writers of his time or before him, he adopted simplicity and brevity and was able to gain great fame even during his lifetime. Saadi's works are restrained in the term easy (simple and difficult) and in them there is obvious or hidden satire and satire. His works have been collected in Saadi's general book, including Golestan in prose, Bostan book in the form of Masnavi, as well as sonnets. In addition, he has works in other literary formats, such as qasida, piece, tarjieband, and single verse in Persian and Arabic languages. Saadi's lyrics are often romantic and descriptive of earthly love; However, he also wrote instructive and mystical lyrics. Golestan and Bostan are known as moral books and in addition to Persian speakers, they have influenced Western thinkers including Voltaire and Goethe. Saadi was very famous during his lifetime. His works were available to his audience even in India, Asia Minor and Central Asia in Persian language or in translation. He is the first Iranian poet whose works have been translated into one of the European languages. Many Persian poets and writers have imitated his style. Hafez was one of the poets who wrote Ghazal under the influence of Saadi's style. In contemporary literature, writers such as Mohammad Ali Jamalzadeh and Ebrahim Golestan have been influenced by him. Saadi's works later found their way into music and many of his sonnets were sung by singers such as Taj Esfahani, Mohammad Reza Shajarian and Gholam Hossein Banan. In order to honor Saadi, the first day of Ardibehesht, the day when Golestan was written, is named Saadi Day in Iran. According to the oldest documents, his name is Moslehuddin Abu Muhammad Abdullah bin Musharraf bin Mosleh bin Musharraf. Saadi's first name, Mosleh, was adapted from his paternal grandfather's name. His father was a lieutenant in the court of Saad bin Zangi, Atabek of Fars, and at the same time he was engaged in religious sciences. Saadi was educated from childhood. In his works, while remembering these teachings, he mentions the love and wise teachings of his father. Saadi lost his father at the age of twelve and was placed under the care of his maternal grandfather, Masoud bin Mosleh al-Farsi. In his childhood, he learned the basics of literary and religious sciences in Shiraz. Saadi is the niece of Qutb al-Din Shirazi, a famous scientist and philosopher. Saadi's childhood and adolescence were at the same time as Atabaki Saad bin Zangi in Fars, which coincided with the invasion of Iran by the Mongols. Khwarazmshah, the brother of Jalaluddin Khwarazmshah, came to Shiraz in the year 620 AH, and encouraged Saadi to leave Shiraz in his youth and go to Baghdad.
