Bombing of Gaza: Federal government believes that even the killing of UN employees and the destruction of residential buildings are covered by international law For over two weeks, the Israeli army has been bombing civilian infrastructure in the Gaza Strip on a massive scale. According to the United Nations, hundreds of residential buildings, as well as large bakeries, schools, universities, mosques, churches and medical facilities have already been destroyed. Over 5,000 civilians, including many children and women, have already fallen victim to the Israeli carpet bombing. According to UNRWA, 35 UN employees had also been killed by October 23, half of them teachers at UN schools in the Gaza Strip. Against this background, NachDenkSeiten asked whether the federal government still believes that Israel's actions are covered by international law. The answer? Israel is "very clearly" committed to international law.
