Daughter-in-law Mirja is now making her dream come true and has recently started marketing the meat of her own Uckermark cattle. But the economic situation is also affecting the Peitz family. Corona, the war in Ukraine and inflation, the demand for organic meat collapsed in 2022. Mirja Peitz cannot live from the marketing of organic meat alone. She has to look for a second job to make ends meet. The meat from their cattle is cut up by the family themselves on the farm. This way they have control over the quality, they say. In order to make their meat better known in the region, they now want to make steak, roast and roulade palatable to local restaurants. Mirja Peitz is also increasing the range in her farm shop and planting various types of pumpkin and tomatoes. She hopes that she can sell the harvest well at the annual autumn market on the family farm.
