Friday Sermon from the Gospel according to Luke 5 [5] 17-28, on 1/11/2024, speaker Ioannis Prapidis ----------------------- -------------------- Excerpts from the Bible: According to Luke 5 [5] 17-28 17) And on one of the days, while he was teaching, there sat Pharisees and legal teachers, who had come from of all the towns of Galilee and Judea and Jerusalem; and it was the power of the Lord to heal them. 18) And behold, men carrying on a bed a man who was paralyzed, and they sought to bring him in and place him before him; 19) and not knowing by which entrance to bring him in because of the crowd, they went up on the roof and through of the tiles they lowered him after the bed in the middle in front of Jesus. 20) And seeing their faith, he said to him: Man, your sins are forgiven. 21) And the scribes and the Pharisees began to ponder, saying: Who is this that speaks blasphemy? Can God alone forgive their sins? 22) When Jesus heard their meditations, he answered and said to them: What are you meditating in your hearts? 23) which is easier, to say, Your sins are forgiven, or to say, Get up and walk? 24) but that you may know what authority the Son of man has on earth to forgive sins, he said to the paralytic: I say to you, Arise and take up your bed and enter your house. 25) And standing up before them, he lifted up the couch where it lay and departed to his house, praising God. 26) And ecstasy took hold of everyone praising God, and they were filled with fear, saying that we see paradoxes today. 27) And after this he went out and saw a publican named Levi, sitting at the publican, and said to him: Follow me. 28) And leaving everything, got up and followed him. --------------------------------------------- Amen
