The sad news came on January 2nd from Ferdi Tayfur, known as the king of arabesque, who fell ill at his home in Marmaris on December 17 and was hospitalized. We were together in the hospital in Antalya 3-4 days ago. We heard that he passed away and came in a hurry. When we got our funeral, we decided to have it done in a big mosque and we did it here.'' He shared many of his secrets at the hospital. It was as if he realized that he might not be able to return home from here again. The master singer said the following; ''He said he was getting better, but he was lisping. He said he was getting better and we will all be together. Ahmet Selçuk was there too. We all hugged each other.''
