I'm starting to publish a ... quantity of videos that I shot in the unfortunately distant 1989, on ALL the FCL lines, the glorious Ferrovie Calabro-Lucane... and nearby lines. I'm leaving everything original, just as I edited those videos, maybe it's all a bit ... naive, but the videos will be a precious Document, in my opinion. Let's start from the FCL yard in Gioia Tauro, cluttered with ... lots of beautiful stuff, for railway people of course, like the Lm 754 shunting locomotive and the LM 4 locomotive. Immediately the fork: on the right we go towards Sinopoli, on the left goes the line to Cinquefrondi ... which we will do in a few hours. The iron viaduct over the Petrace, the ancient Metauro. A succession of tight radius curves. Palmi station. Seminara station; tunnels, viaducts. The S. Maria stop. At Melicuccà, the intersection with the M2 223. Many tunnels, one of 2 km, a splendid iron viaduct. The little Valli station. At minute 12, my children appear (they are now 35 years old...), with a little game that they submit to the driver. It seems easy... The S. Eufemia d'Aspromonte station and the Sinopoli station, the terminus upstream of the line, at 502 m above sea level. In the next episode, the Gioia Tauro-Cinquefrondi!
