UK Channel Posted on 2024/04/10 Matt has got his hands on the cheapest electric car in the UK. And he's going to see how its performance and range have changed since it was sold new. Matt's eye is on the Nissan Leaf, the first generation, which he bought via Carwow for just 290,000 yen. When it was sold new, it started at about 4 million yen, including a 1 million yen government subsidy! It wasn't a very expensive car when it was new, so Matt got a pretty good deal! When it was new, the Nissan Leaf was equipped with a 24kWh battery and was advertised to have a maximum range of 200km. It also had a single electric motor that drove only the front wheels, and produced a maximum of 109 horsepower. The question is, can Matt get to the destination he wants to go to with a relatively short maximum range from new? And what exactly happens when it runs out of charge?
