Cyclo Tech, a company developing an electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) aircraft, has successfully tested a prototype of its aeromobile in the open air. The latest prototype is called “Bumblebee2.0” and is equipped with 4 CR42 cyclorotor engines and an improved flight control system. For over 10 years, CycloTech has been developing a new aircraft propulsion system. Cycloror engines are 360° thrust vectoring systems based on the same physical principle as the Voith-Schneider propulsion system, which has been successfully used for decades to provide high maneuverability and stability to marine vessels.
