Heritage and Memories at Crossroads - 2nd International Postcolonial and Decolonial Meeting Graduated in Archival Science from the Federal University of Santa Catarina (UFSC) and in Religious Science from the Municipal University Center of São José (USJ). She serves as state president of Afoxé Ómó Ifá and is a contributor to the magazine Mistérios de Orunmilá, author of articles related to Candomblé and its frequencies. She is the author of the book Xirê Epistemológico: Roda, Ancestrality and Education [2022], organized by Cristiano Sant'Anna, where she wrote the chapter “Oxagiyan, thus they taught me, thus they told me”. In the Conversation Circle “Heritage and Memories at Crossroads”, Adriana Leke shares her memories of Mãe Beata and her work against all types of discrimination. She is moved to share the lessons she received about belonging and the culture of peace through understanding others. It presents the Encanta-se project, which aims to combat domestic violence, and the teachings of Candomblé to combat this. Mother Beata taught healing and strengthening through the manifestations of the practices in the terreiro. Finally, we understand that all this knowledge brought is oral, and that it is a religion of memory, marked by the speeches of the griots and the appreciation of knowledge from memory.
