When are you the best version of yourself? Trends like #CleanGirl #ThatGirl or biohacking promise self-optimization. In times of fitness trackers, mindfulness apps and 5AM clubs, this seems to have become the new mantra of our society. More and more people are striving for the perfect self, be it through physical fitness, healthy eating or mental strength. But is that really desirable? Some find structure in self-optimization, enjoy pushing the boundaries or recognize how important topics like mental health and mindfulness are to them in everyday life. Others, on the other hand, see the danger of becoming a victim of a neoliberal performance society and the need for control. The constant pressure to be perfect makes you sick, goes the argument. So is self-optimization the way to be more beautiful, better and more efficient, or is it a social media trend that can have a negative impact on the body and mind? We discuss this in this episode of "13 Questions". Do you have a topic that we should discuss in our next episode? Feel free to write us your suggestions at [email protected] .
