Again, bad news about the police. As many as 18 police officers are suspected of extorting Rp32.6 billion from Malaysian citizens while watching the Djakarta Warehouse Project (DWP) concert at the Jakarta International Expo, Kemayoran, Jakarta. Oh, this behavior is so embarrassing. What is the chronology? Then, how did the police and the National Police Commission respond to this case? Head of the Public Information Bureau of the Police Public Relations Division, Brigadier General Trunoyudo Wisnu Andiko, Saturday (12/21/2024), said that the police unit involved and had secured them. This case was revealed after the DWP 2024 event, the audience reported the alleged extortion by the police on the X platform or Instagram. The @Twt_Rave account, for example, uploaded that 400 Malaysians were forced to pay a total of RM9 million or around Rp32.6 billion. Not only that, he said that there were also audience members from Singapore and Thailand who were victims. The police forced urine tests on the audience in the middle of the DWP performance to check whether the audience was using drugs or not. Then, the audience was still forced to pay bribes even though the drug test results were negative. Judging from those involved, it was no joke. There were police from the Jakarta Metro Police, Central Jakarta Police, and Kemayoran Metro Police. The number of victims targeted was also no joke, 400 people.
