???? €1000 discount when buying a new Tesla → https://arcos.co/tesla⚡️ A DETAILED GUIDE of EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW about recharging electric cars, how to take care of the battery, how to avoid degradation. How often should you change the battery of an electric car? Can you charge to 100%? Can you travel until the battery is at 0%? Is it dangerous? What is the warranty on the battery of an electric car? Can you travel long distances? Is there battery degradation if I do fast charging? Should I only do slow charging? I answer each and every one of the questions in this video. Including what are the precautions that I have followed over these five years and with two electric cars to avoid the degradation of my batteries as much as possible. === ???? In simple terms, degradation is a consequence of the natural wear and tear of the materials that make up the battery, especially the lithium-ion cells. One of the main factors is the charge and discharge cycle. Every time the battery is charged and discharged, tiny chemical reactions occur within the cells that, over time, can degrade the materials. This results in a gradual loss of the battery's ability to hold a charge. The more complete charge and discharge cycles the battery experiences, the more it will degrade. But electric car manufacturers have designed their car batteries to allow for so many cycles that the battery outlasts the life of the car itself. These batteries can then be recycled and given a second life. Another factor is temperature. Batteries work best at moderate temperatures. Extreme temperatures, both high and low, can accelerate degradation. For example, excessive heat can cause internal battery components to expand, which can permanently damage the battery. On the other hand, extreme cold can temporarily reduce battery efficiency, but it doesn't necessarily cause significant long-term degradation. In addition, batteries in modern cars, manufactured from 2012 onwards, are cooled, so if they are operating at high temperatures, either due to the weather or fast charging, various systems are activated to reduce their temperature and extend the life of the battery. In addition, the way the car is used also influences it. Keeping the battery constantly at 100% charge or leaving it discharged for long periods can accelerate degradation. For this reason, many manufacturers recommend keeping the battery charge between 10% and 80 to 90% to prolong its useful life. It is also important to remember that new studies have determined that fast charging does not degrade the battery, as many believed.
