The diagnosis came at a difficult time in his life: he was unemployed, without money and without a roof over his head. Nevertheless, he did not give up, but dealt with his illness head on. Looking back, he can now say: he lived his life "hard". But even for him, this experience was "heavy" and the worst thing he has ever experienced. It is all the more astonishing how well he survived the treatment with major surgery and radiation and how composed and confident he is today when talking about what he experienced. In the video, Jens tells how he paid close attention to his body's signals during therapy and consciously avoided painkillers. After the operation, he could neither eat, drink nor talk. He had to learn everything again. And here too, the work with the speech therapist was far too slow for him.
