Hello, everyone warmly 😁 In the previous episode we announced an impressive ride to Pločno, which is the highest peak in the Central Dinaric Alps. Due to its height, it is often referred to as the roof of Herzegovina. And rightly so, because there are roads leading to many peaks, but only a few lead to peaks reaching a height of 2228 m above sea level. The gravel and rocky road leading to the peak is almost 12 km long, assuming that the starting point will be the village of Bare. After passing several separate buildings and completely crossing the plateau, we began an intensive mountain climb. Numerous serpentines with a varied angle of turn, as well as gradients, which on some ramps exceeded 30%, made the route arduous and demanding, while the ride itself took us about an hour. Already on the route, there were strong gusts of wind, which at times became very gusty on the ridge of the mountain. The surrounding peaks were covered with clouds, so the view of the panorama was somewhat limited. Most importantly, the sun was shining, the air temperature exceeded 25 degrees, and the road surface was dry. Such conditions had a beneficial effect on the course of the route, which in the high parts, especially in winter, but even in May can be impassable due to snow. After driving down to the village of Bare, we did not want to take the same route, so at the crossroads we went left, towards the village of Konjsko. When we reached the main road R419, we turned right. Continuing along the asphalt road, we passed Lake Blidinje for the second time that day. From there, we had another 45-kilometer route to the accommodation base. Early in the morning, we set off towards one of the largest urban centers in the country. With every kilometer we drove, it got hotter and hotter, and in the vicinity of Mostar itself, the temperature exceeded 40 degrees. Are you curious if we managed to visit the old town and our stay was successful?
