They have experienced the constant changes of the guard in recent years. After having had several directors, the union says it is fed up. The shareholder must be more serious about choosing a board of directors. De Ware Tijd previously revealed that acting director Steven Gonesh is leaving SLM. Lars de Brabander, who was appointed as deputy director of Commercial Affairs, appears to have left for months. Jermaine Kerk, secretary of the union, states that important preconditions for a strong management team are lacking. The shareholder must take this more seriously. It is a beautiful company with a management problem, says Kerk. The SLM has now issued a statement. In it, the company states that the report from De Ware Tijd is incorrect. Gonesh would remain in office. Below is the statement: Following a publication in the online version of the daily newspaper De Ware Tijd, (DWT) of Wednesday, November 20, 2024, stating that the Surinamese Airlines (SLM) has issued a statement regarding the termination of the employment of the Vice President Operations, also the acting CEO, S. Gonesh as of December 1, 2024, we would like to emphatically emphasize that this information is completely incorrect. The SLM has never issued such a statement, and therefore wishes to emphasize that official reports and statements come from management and/or the Corporate Communications department. The Vice President Operations, also acting CEO, S. Gonesh will continue to fulfill his position until otherwise agreed with the shareholder. The SLM regrets the publication of incorrect information, as this is not only damaging to the reputation of the organization, but also leads to confusion among stakeholders, key players, employees and the general public. Correct and transparent reporting is a moral duty and it is important that the public is informed correctly. As an organization, we remain available for further explanation or to provide the correct information to prevent misunderstandings. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Visit our website: www.abcsuriname.com Radio 101.7 FM TV Channels 4.1 and 4.2 The Love Station De Aktualiteitenzender
