In this fourth episode of my cycling adventure across Sri Lanka, I take you to the heart of the unexpected. 🚴‍♂️🌏 As I cycle through the roads, tracks and paths of this fascinating country, a local stops me to warn me: there would be imminent danger with elephants on my route. 🐘 Faced with her insistence, I turn around and end up sharing an unforgettable moment with her and her family. A simple meeting turns into an impromptu tea break, where discussions multiply until they bring together about ten people, testifying to the generosity and warmth of the people of Sri Lanka. ☕👨‍👩‍👧 But the call of adventure takes over again. I decide to follow the route initially not recommended, with increased vigilance to respect the elephants and not disturb their tranquility. The landscape unfolds: lush forests, endless rice fields, and finally the magical arrival in Anuradhapura, the ancient capital of Sri Lanka, where history and nature blend in perfect harmony. 🌾🏞️ This 1,200 km cycling trip is much more than a sporting challenge, it is a human and cultural adventure to discover the hidden treasures of Sri Lanka.
