Avatar: The Last Airbender Adventure series by Albert Kim with Gordon Cormier and Kiawentiio. The Netflix live-action series Avatar: The Last Airbender (originally Avatar: The Last Airbender), like its animated model of the same name, follows the adventures of main character Aang and his friends Katara and Sokka. The elements water, fire, earth and air form the foundation of the world of Avatar, which is divided into four nations. In each of these nations there are special people, so-called tamers, who can control one of the four elements. Only the legendary Avatar has the gift of taming all four elements in order to keep the world in balance. Katara (Kiawentiio) and her brother Sokka (Ian Ousley) are two young members of the Water Tribe. One day they meet the boy Aang (Gordon Cormier), who belongs to the almost forgotten Air Nomad nation. They are constantly pursued by the dangerous Crown Prince Zuko (Dallas Liu). It was first announced in 2018 that the streaming service Netflix was working on a live action adaptation of the animated series Avatar - The Last Airbender. The creators of the animated series, Michael Dante DiMartino and Bryan Konietzko, were originally hired as showrunners for the live-action series. In August 2020, it was announced that they had left the project due to creative differences. Albert Kim eventually took over the position of showrunner for the new Avatar series. Filming for the first season of Avatar: The Last Airbender began in Vancouver in November 2021 and lasted until June 2022. The series was filmed under the working titles Blue Dawn and Trade Winds.
