Metro line 3 runs through Madrid from north to south, between the Moncloa and Villaverde Alto stations. It is 16.4 kilometres long and has 18 stations on a journey that takes approximately half an hour. It was launched on 9 August 1936, with a small section of 3 stations between Sol and Embajadores. Throughout its history, it has been progressively expanded as important events in Spanish history took place, such as when the platforms of line 3 served as a shelter during the Civil War. All stations are accessible to people with reduced mobility as between 2003 and 2006 improvement works were undertaken along the entire line, including the extension of platforms from 60 to 90 metres, for the subsequent entry into service of the 3000 series trains. Also, along with these works, the Moncloa platforms were closed and demolished to create new ones parallel to line 6 and to create islands 2 and 3 of the bus terminal. I would like to thank @Giorgio Trains for letting me use the PA systems he recorded, since they were not playing on this train.
